Assignment Format
- Write your full name, class, hour, and date in upper right hand corner.
- Use blue or black ink.
- Double space if you are typing.
- Typed papers should use font size no smaller than 10 point and no larger than 14 point. Script fonts are not appropriate. Do not bold your font for assignments. Bold or italic fonts are used for emphasis only.
- Margins: For hand written compositions use standard margins on lined paper. Be sure to leave one inch of space at the bottom of your page. For typed compositions, the default margins in Word will be fine.
- Write the title in the center of the first line. Do not underline your own title or place it in quotation marks. Skip a line between the title and the first line of the composition. On succeeding pages begin on the first blue line of the page or one inch from the top of unlined paper.
- Number all pages with Arabic numbers beginning with page 2.
- Staple multiple pages together in the top left hand corner.
- Indent all paragraphs one tab, or use block style with extra space between paragraphs. There is no space between indented paragraphs.
- Be sure paper is neat. The final paper should not have cross-outs or words added above the line.
