Virtual Learning Day
Virtual Learning Days (VLD) can be used in the event of severe weather events (e.g., wind chill, snow, flooding) and illness epidemics. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction piloted VLD in districts throughout the state with great success. Given the potentially severe winter weather in Wisconsin, the School District of Sheboygan Falls is prepared to use VLDs to provide continuity in our students' education.
Chromebooks are issued to specific students for use during the year. Any home wifi passwords entered will be remembered by the device. The only reason the SFSD I.T. Dept. would erase the password would be if repairs are needed and the repair involved re-imaging the machine or issuing a replacement device.
Certainly, though this is not required. Students are issued 11" Chromebooks. If an "always-on" case is purchased, it may be removed while at school if the device doesn't fit into the cart with the case.
Yes, though that shouldn't be necessary as the student Chromebooks should be coming home with a full (or nearly full) charge that should last 8-10 hours.
The high school students should have a charger at home.
These are the current models used at the other buildings:
|Middle School||Acer C731 Model N16Q13||
|Elementary School||HP Chromebook 11A G6 EE||HP Part NO. 935444-001
Replace with HP Spare 934739-850
There is no set time by which students must be logged in. District staff will be monitoring login rates throughout the day.
