Girls with a positive female role model in a STEM profession are more likely to feel empowered when they engage in STEM activities. This is just one example of why opportunities showing women in these fields need to be available to girls, and is why Women In Technology-WI has created WIT4Girls and the Microsoft Girls Workshops. The format of these workshops is intentional in its mission to help girls envision themselves in STEM careers.
Sheboygan Falls Middle School is pleased to expand this offering, which has historically been hosted in the Fox Valley and Green Bay areas. We are fortunate to have professional, women mentors from area companies such as Kohler, Bemis, Rockline, Acuity, Johnsonville, National Exchange Bank, and Alliant Energies participating in the event. In addition, we are grateful to Kohler, Johnsonville, Acuity, and MSquared Engineering for their financial support. Without their support, we could not provide such an incredible opportunity for our fifth through eighth grade girls.
