Sheboygan Falls School District Offers Financial Assistance For Families

For families in the Sheboygan Falls School District, financial assistance can be about more
than meals.

Continued reimbursement from the federal government will allow the district to provide
breakfast and lunch to all students free of charge during the next school year, 2021-22.
However, for families who meet certain income eligibility guidelines, even more costs can be
waived.

Families who complete the district application for free and reduced cost meals as well as an
“information sharing” form can have fees reduced or waived in other areas as well, including
fees for field trips, testing and participation fees for athletics, music and extracurricular
activities.

According to Mary Blaha, the district’s Director of Business Services, both forms can be
completed during the online registration process and do not have to be printed and delivered
to the district. Blaha said the total number of families filing the forms also helps the district
financially since the information is used to calculate the district’s eligibility for grants and other
types of funding. The information also helps the district identify families who may require other
types of assistance such as families who are homeless, caring for foster children, or are
seasonal workers.
