Baseball (5th - 8th Grade)

*Grades refer to current (2018-19 School Year)

Options for 5th-8th grade boys:

Rec League - Sheboygan Rec League (5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade leagues)

Traveling Leagues - Kettle Moraine League (5th & 6th Grade) and Midshore League (7th & 8th Grade)

What's the difference between Traveling and Rec?

The level of competition for the traveling leagues is typically higher than in rec leagues. Traveling teams compete against other communities' best players & teams. The focus of SF traveling teams is on skill development and playing time is determined by skill, effort, and consistency in practice and games.

For those who wish to play rec league the 5th & 6th grade boys and 7th & 8th grade boys play in the Sheboygan Rec League and all games are held in Sheboygan. The league emphasizes equal playing time, fundamental skill development and is a more relaxed atmosphere than the traveling leagues.

Important Information:

  • Registration deadline: Thursday, March 14th
  • Early/on time registration allows us to schedule for the appropriate number of Sheboygan Falls teams in these leagues
  • Fee covers cost of equipment, jersey tops, and umpires for home games (or Sheboygan Rec League fees)
  • The Rec Department will provide a jersey top for each player
  • Additional fees for tournaments, hats, etc are separate from the Rec Department fee and will be collected by the coach
  • Anyone wishing to coach a Traveling Baseball team must contact Recreation Director, Bryan Hansen (contact info below), no later than March 14th
  • All players registering for traveling leagues must attend a skill evaluation in April (if  the number of sign-ups dictates a tryout) – participants will be contacted with tryout information
  • Participants not selected for the Traveling team will be placed on a Rec League team
  • Each participant must have a Youth Concussion form on file with the Rec Department
